There’s long been discussion around how a Mediterranean diet can promote a healthful lifestyle. Since 2010 it’s been our mission to provide authentic and wholesome dishes for our guests. Using only the freshest of ingredients and making everything by hand, in-house, has our guests returning time and again. We even boast our own in-house butcher – Gerry the Butcher! Look for vibrant colors, delicious whole grains and flavorful spices to keep your palate excited and your heart, brain, waist and your life at its best!
Many of our spices and homemade sauces are available for purchase so you may experiment and create your own dishes at home. Also, if you are in need of catering for a family event or office, our food is always a hit – but make sure to plan ahead, as we are often booked out a week in advance!
We’ve been honored to receive local awards (Boston Main Streets Outstanding Business Award 2014, Best of Boston – Best Middle Eastern 2014) and many outstanding reviews (Boston Herald, Boston Magazine, The Armenian Mirror Spectator, The Pheonix). Most can agree that the best artists are not necessarily those that have been formally trained. Mama Rosie’s delicious food comes from her natural talent and a lifetime of experience. She’s been gifted with the ability to recreate home-cooking reminiscent of her childhood in Lebanon. Guests are drawn to the comforting and authentic dishes coming from her kitchen. All of Mama Rosie’s creations are made from scratch, in-house, with love and joy. In the words of Cesar Chavez: “If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with them… the people who give you their food give you their heart.”
Passion. Drive. Vision. These are the attributes of Mama Rosie’s eldest child. He is the engine that Garlic ‘n Lemons runs on. Luckily, their food makes for excellent fuel! He learned the art of Shawerma studying under his respected mentor, Chef Peter Chahine. He extended his knowledge and skill by traveling to Lebanon in 2009 to study first-hand authentic marination and layering techniques. The offering of their Sujek (spicy beef) Shawerma is one of the resulting phenomenons of these travels.
For many, “Business is Business”. For Mardig, business is personal. He strives every day to keep his guests satisfied, to create a happy workplace for his team, and to make his parents proud – knowing that their gamble on the “American Dream” did indeed provide a better future for their family.
